Five Signs of Skin Cancer

Unlike other cancer, skin cancer is the easiest cancer to be detected. Since, it attack the outer body, that is skin. Sign of skin cancer is visible from outside. Change of skin color is very early stage or even not. People may think that a bump is going to be skin cancer, but actually, the signs of skin cancer are a little bit different. There are five signs of skin cancer which is an effective way to indicate a possibility of skin cancer symptoms.

The Five Signs of Skin Cancer can be simply called ABCDE Signs. It skin cancer signs stand for Asymmetry, Border, Color, Diameter and Evolve/Elevation.

Explanation:

  1. Asymmetry: Asymmetry means that skin cancer have irregular growth. A warning sign for melanoma is when the two sides of a mole do not match or are not symmetrical, seek medical attention immediately.
  2. Boarder: Skin Cancer or cancerous tumor often do not have regular and easily distinguishable borders. If your mole has an uneven boarder, this may also be a warning of skin cancer. Be sure to monitor your skin for any suspicious growths. Especially check your skin (for women) after a pregnancy since skin cancer can feed and grow on hormone changes.
  3. Color: Better remember among five signs of skin cancer, color is the easiest way to determine skin cancer. Also reminding people that cancerous growths are frequently multicolored in appearance, and may be black, white, brown, red, or blue. However, moles can also have a bluish tint to them. This signals melanoma.
  4. Diameter: Diameter of mole can be used to describe the growths. Tumors larger than ¼ inch in size are much more likely to be cancerous than benign.  If your mole is bigger than a pencil eraser, seek medical attention.
  5. Evolve/Elevation: This is because neoplasms are frequently elevated above the skin’s surface, and their surfaces typically appear uneven.
