Mohs’ micrographic surgery (mohs surgery) is a skin cancer treatment technique that use often until today. Mohs’ Surgery works by removing the cancer with the least amount of surrounding tissue and the edges are checked immediately to see if tumor is found. This skin cancer treatment type provides the highest opportunity to remove the least amount of tissue and minimize the scar as much as possible, also provide the best cosmetically favorable results among all skin cancer treatments.

Mohs’ Surgery usually use when skin cancer attacking in a place where excess skin is limited (such as face). Mohs surgery cure rates very depend on how wide is the excision of skin cancer itself. Not all doctors able to do mohs surgery, since special training is required to perform this technique.

In the case of skin cancer that has spread (metastasized), further surgical procedures or chemotherapy may be required.
